India Relief and Education Fund (IREF) was founded in 1993 in the San Francisco Bay area with the twin objectives of organizing India awareness educational activities in the U.S. and supporting like-minded organizations in India, as well as supporting disaster relief work in India.

When a donation is pledged, the Vehicle Donation Processing Center, takes the donor information over the telephone, handles all the documents, vehicle pick up, sale at auction and distribution of proceeds to The India Relief and Education Fund. The Vehicle Donation Processing Center guarantees payment of all expenses in administering the program for India Relief and Education Fund. Every month, net proceeds are split evenly between the Vehicle Donation Processing Center and India Relief and Education Fund.
