The purpose of the Illinois Council of the Blind is to promote the general welfare of citizens in Illinois who are blind. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for all blind and visually impaired citizens of Illinois. Our objectives include protecting the rights and privileges of visually impaired Illinois citizens by monitoring legislation, agencies, and organizations that provide services for them. We also provide mutual encouragement and support through social change.

The Illinois Council of the Blind has partnered with The Vehicle Donation Processing Center, Inc. in the operation of our vehicle donation program. The Vehicle Donation Processing Center, Inc. allows The Illinois Council of the Blindto be able to benefit from vehicular donations, and offers this service to you.

When a donation is pledged, the Vehicle Donation Processing Center, Inc., takes the donor information over the telephone, handles all the documents, vehicle pick up, sale at auction and distribution of proceeds to The Illinois Council of the Blind. The Vehicle Donation Processing Center guarantees payment of all expenses in administering the program for Illinois Council of the Blind. Every month, net proceeds are split evenly between the Vehicle Donation Processing Center, Inc. and Illinois Council of the Blind.
