The American Council of the Blind of Colorado, Inc. (ACBC) is a 501.c.3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting independence, equality, and opportunity for blind and visually impaired individuals in the state of Colorado. We are affiliated with the American Council of the Blind (ACB), which is a national group of geographical and special interest affiliates. We currently have local chapters in Sterling, Fort Collins, Longmont, Denver, and Colorado Springs, as well as one special interest affiliate dedicated to beep ball. The American Council of the Blind of Colorado supports and promotes the educational, vocational and social advancement of blind and visually impaired persons. ACBCO is a state affiliate of the national American Council of the Blind. When a donation is pledged, the Vehicle Donation Processing Center, Inc., takes the donor information over the telephone, handles all the documents, vehicle pick up, sale at auction and distribution of proceeds to The American Council of the Blind of Colorado. The Vehicle Donation Processing Center guarantees payment of all expenses in administering the program for American Council of the Blind of Colorado. Every month, net proceeds are split evenly between the Vehicle Donation Processing Center, Inc. and American Council of the Blind of Colorado.
